Hugh Benjamin “Ben” Garner, 85, of Henrico, NC, died Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at Greensville Health & Rehabilitation, Emporia, Va.

Hugh was born in Greensville County, Virginia. 

He was the son of the late Carl Edward Garner and Ocie Massey Garner.  

He is also preceded in death by the love of his life Joyce Whitehead Garner.  

Hugh loved his family, trucks and cars with pinstripes. He was a Masonry Contractor. He owned and operated H. B. Garner, Inc. doing residential and commercial construction

Hugh is survived by his children, Ellie Kay Garner-Rhodes, Hugh Benjamin “Bennie” (Cathy) Garner; grandchildren Savanna (Zachary) Rhodes Misak, Elliott (Edith) Rhodes, Patrick (Kalee) Rhodes, Catherine Garner, Craig (Kathy) Carico, Melissa (Lee) Dickens; great grandchildren Brayden, Parker, and Mason Rhodes, Aurora, Alex, and Joe Carico; sister Audrey Lou (Joe) Allen, Lilburn, Ga; Sister-in-law Barbara W. Clarke, Emporia, Va; nephew Earl Garner and family friend Jeannette Carroll.

Graveside Service will be held in Cedarwood Cemetery (New), Roanoke Rapids, NC, Monday May 2, 2022, at 1:00 PM, with Pastor Henry Stephens officiating.  

Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 1, 2022 from 4:00-6:00 PM at Wrenn Funeral Home in Roanoke Rapids.
