Dorothy “Dot” Elizabeth Wheeler, 92, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 19th   2022.

She was born in Roanoke Rapids on Feb. 22nd 1930 to the late Jesse Thomas Wheeler and Elizabeth Parks Wheeler.

She was preceded in death by her brother Tommy Wheeler and sister-in-law Mae Wheeler.

She is survived by her loving nephews Bryan Wheeler and Eddie Wheeler (Debbie), Great-nephew Chris Wheeler (Teri), Great-great nephew Everett Wheeler, Aunt Mary Tarbert, special cousins Ralph Cullom and Margie Holliday, along with her loving and caring roommate Nancy Piland.

She was a 1948 graduate of Roanoke Rapids High School and a 1951 Graduate of Roanoke Rapids Hospital Nursing School.  

She then worked at the hospital for a few years before changing careers. 

After receiving a degree from Hardbarger Business College in Raleigh she was employed as the secretary at Rosemary United Methodist Church for many years.  

She then worked at Timberlake Drug Store until retiring. She was Mr. Timberlake’s right hand person and really enjoyed working for him.  

After retiring she took care of her loving parents.  She then moved to Greenville in 2016 to be closer to her immediate family.

Dot always loved spending time with her family, especially on birthdays and holidays.  

She enjoyed being such a huge part of Eddie and Bryan’s life growing up, playing cards, board games and croquet.  

She also enjoyed reading, working puzzles, crocheting, sewing with her mother, traveling, watching old TV shows like Carol Burnett and Andy Griffith and going out to eat and shopping with family and friends.  

She will be greatly missed by all that knew her. 

The family will receive at Wrenn Funeral Home Sunday, May 1, 2022, from 1:00 pm Until 2:00 pm. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow in Cedarwood cemetery.
