Carlton Edwards 82 departed this life on Monday May 2, 2022 at Southside Regional Medical Center in Petersburg, Va. with family around his side.
In August 2013 he found out he had chronic leukemia cancer.
Carlton was a 1961 graduate of Gaston High School, and worked at J.P. Stevens for 22 years. He liked farming, and was very talented in making things. He also was good at drawing and loved horses.
Married to Nancy Case Edwards, he had two sons Greg and Don Edwards, wife Teresa; two grandsons, Jesse and Corbin Edwards. Carlton loved to hear the boys play the piano and especially for church.
Carlton was the son of the late Ernest and Mable Edwards. Brother and sister, Mary Hammack (Carl deceased), Vicki Anderson (Jimmie deceased), Oscar Lewis Edwards (deceased), Peggy Dickens (deceased) husband Ronnie Dickens, Frances Edwards, Wayne Edwards and wife Marie. Carlton had a niece and nephews, a lot of cousins, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on May 6, 2022 and visiting with family will be held 2:00 to 3:00 PM, at Lebanon Methodist Church. Wrenn Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Rev. Bob Clyde and Dr. Julian Mills and also Ronnie Dickens will be officiating. Burial will be in Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.
