Carleen Parks Bryant

Mrs. Bryant was born August 30, 1934 and departed this life on June 11, 2020. 

She was preceded in death by her parents James Lloyd Parks, Sr. and Carrie Coggins Parks of Rich Square, NC, her husband, Walter L. Bryant and her daughter, Harriett J. Bryant of the home. 

She is survived by her daughter Phyllis Bryant. She is also preceded in death by many of her 21 siblings, many of whom she cared for prior to starting her own life. 

She is survived by sisters Elizabeth Hayes of Rocky Mount, NC and Virginia Webb of Arkansas, Hazel Parks Harris (Rundle) and Mebane Griffin of Roanoke Rapids, NC. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Carleen Bryant was a proud homemaker, caretaker, cook, gardener and seamstress. She was the loud voice in our family.

Services will be graveside, Sunday, June 14, 2020 at 2 p.m. Crestview Memorial Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Threshold Clubhouse 609 Gary Street Durham, NC 27703 in support of their gardening and meals for persons with serious mental illness as she loved cooking and gardening so much.
