It is with heavy hearts that we announce our awesome mother, Linda Daniel Tomlinson, 82, passed away on June 3, 2026.

Linda was born in Halifax County on August 2, 1943, to the late Duard Allen Daniel and Hazel Joyner Daniel. 

She worked several jobs, but mostly in banking as a loan processor. She had a passion for gardening and reading-especially romance novels. 

Linda loved the warm spring and summer weather and would spend most of the day outside with her flowers and garden areas. She also loved walking the neighborhood when she could.

Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Harmon "Terry" Tomlinson Jr., she leaves behind her son, Dan Tomlinson and his wife Anne Tomlinson, daughter, Julie Hayes and her husband Timmy Hayes, grandchildren, Katy Tomlinson, Ross Tomlinson, Adam Tomlinson, Danielle Tomlinson, Emilee Collins and her husband Jordan Collins, Rachel Hayes, Tyler Hayes and Ryan Hayes, sister, Betty Warwick and her husband Bruce Warwick, Joyce Leake and her husband Russell Leake, and Ruth Norton and her husband George Norton, and her special friend David Grogan. 

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Wrenn Funeral Home, 1015 West 5th Street, Roanoke Rapids. The funeral service will be held for Linda at 11:00am on Wednesday, June 10, 2026 in the Chapel of Wrenn Funeral Home with Pastor Andy Cain officiating. 

The family will also receive friends at the home of Julie Hayes on Sunday and Monday nights, June 7 and 8 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.

Interment for Linda will follow the funeral service at Fountain Creek Baptist Church, 8099 Brink Road, Emporia, VA at 12:30pm.
