Elma Ernestine "Tina" Ross Griffin

Wakefield VA - died peacefully on September 27, 2018. She is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. C.W. “Jack” Griffin Sr.; her parents, Elmer E. Ross and Hattie Borrell Ross; two sisters, Irma Molloy, Margie Hicks, and a brother, J.D. Ross. She is survived by her brother, Wallace Edwards; two sons, Clarence Wayne Griffin, Jr. and his wife, Susan Reagan Griffin, and Ross Laine Griffin and his wife, Heather Hill Griffin; four grandchildren, Reagan Griffin, Whitney Griffin, Alexis Watkins and Allie Watkins.

Mrs. Ferdy Haskins Warner, 84, formerly of Darlington, NC, passed away Wednesday afternoon, September 21, 2022 at Cobb Hospital in Smyrna, GA.  

Ferdy was born on November 04, 1937 in Halifax County, NC.  

She met the love of her life James and they were married February 16, 1963.  A few years later, they moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where they started a family by adopting their son Steve, and soon after, having a daughter Stacy. 

Ferdy had an optimistic outlook on life and saw the very best in everyone, no matter the situation.  A truly humble and gentle soul, Ferdy left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Her passing leaves a huge hole in the hearts of many and she will be missed tremendously.  

She was preceded in death by her parents Jesse and Doretha (Sis), husband James, daughter Stacy, grandson Camden and close cousin Portia Faye Shaw. 

Surviving Mrs. Warner in Georgia, are her son Steve (Christen) Warner, grandchildren Sash (whom she helped raise), Jazzmin and Tennyson.  Also, a dear friend, Mrs. Bobbie Pride.  

Locally, left to cherish her memory are her sisters, Nina (Dan) Hutchinson of Darlington, Rochella (Percy Ray) Hux of Littleton, niece Amy Hutchinson of Rocky Mount, nephew Daniel (Laura) Hutchinson and great niece Sara all of Darlington, special cousin Nick (Connie) Hux of Roanoke Rapids, close friend Faye Sanderford of Darlington and numerous cousins. 

A celebration of life will be held at The Trinity Pentecostal Holiness Church, 4235 Aurelian Springs Rd. Halifax, NC on Sunday October 2nd at 3pm with the Rev. Mitchell Norville officiating.  

The family will receive friends after the service.
