Michael Shawn King, 49, of Lakeland,FL left his earthly family and friends to be with his Heavenly family and friends on Wednesday, November 23, 2022.

Michael was born on September 1, 1973 in Roanoke Rapids, NC and Graduated from Roanoke Rapids High School in 1991.

He enjoyed playing football, basketball and baseball in the Roanoke Rapids City Little Leagues and Midget Leagues as well as for Roanoke Rapids Graded School District. 

Michael's short fight against cancer is now over and he can now enjoy the sports he loved along with his drums. 

Left to cherish his memory is his mother, Kathy Conwell Little of Roanoke Rapids, NC, his father, Henry M. King, Jr., of Lakeland, FL (formerly of Halifax, NC), his sister, Shannon (James) Williams of Roanoke Rapids, NC, his brother, Trey King, of Lakeland, FL, two nieces, and a countless number of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Michael's family would like to thank Lakeland Regional Medical Hospital, Watson Clinic, Dr. Leonard Gitter, Marvin in patient transportation, and all their staff for everything they did for Michael. Also to Rusty Bonynge and Carol Hart of Frederick Derr & Co for the support they gave Michael and his parents throughout his illness.

Gentry-Morrison Cremation Center of Lakeland, FL will be handling the arrangements. A private service will be held to honor Michael at a later date.
