Wakefield VA - died peacefully on September 27, 2018.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. C.W. “Jack” Griffin Sr.; her parents, Elmer E. Ross and Hattie Borrell Ross; two sisters, Irma Molloy, Margie Hicks, and a brother, J.D. Ross.  She is survived by her brother, Wallace Edwards; two sons, Clarence Wayne Griffin, Jr. and his wife, Susan Reagan Griffin, and Ross Laine Griffin and his wife, Heather Hill Griffin; four grandchildren, Reagan Griffin, Whitney Griffin, Alexis Watkins and Allie Watkins.

Tina was born 12,22,1937 in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina and graduated from Roanoke Rapids high school.  After graduating, she moved to Richmond, Virginia where she attended Virginia Commonwealth University.  Tina then began employment with the state of Virginia under the Department of Agriculture, finishing her career as an assistant to the State Veterinarian of Virginia.  There she met Dr. C.W. “Jack” Griffin, and moved to Wakefield, Virginia.  She was a faithful member of the Wakefield United Methodist Church, the Women’s Club, and the Daughters of the Confederacy.  Most of all she was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and a person that believed family came first.  She will be greatly missed by her family, who loved her very much.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, October 1, 2018 at Wakefield United Methodist Church with Pastor Glenn Riggs officiating. Burial will follow at Wakefield Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the burial in the church fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wakefield UMC, P.O. Box 87 Wakefield, VA 23888. R.W.
