Dorothy “Dot” Helen Iles Green, 94, of Roanoke Rapids went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 22, 2024.

Dot was born March 6, 1930, in Halifax County to the late David Edgar Iles and Helen Bernice Copeland Iles. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William B. Green, Sr.; her son, William B. “Billy” Green, Jr.

Dot taught biology and science for 44 years at Roanoke Rapids High School and served on the Roanoke Rapids Graded School District Board of Trustees. She was a devoted leader at Rosemary Baptist Church, serving as an ordained deacon, on the church counsel, Sunday school teacher and on the kitchen committee. Dot loved to travel and to brag about her four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Her legacy lives by the many lives she touched.

Dot was a long time member of Alpha Delta Kappa teacher sorority. 

 Dot is survived by her daughter, Carolann Wade and her husband Rob; her daughter-in-law, Katie Green; her grandchildren, Kristen Keeter and her husband Gray, Laura Hartley, Ben Wade and his wife Kate and Sarah Wade; seven great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Dot’s life will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, March 25, 2024, at Rosemary Baptist Church with Dr. Layne Wallace officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 1:30 P.M. at the church prior to the service. Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery.
