Mrs. Grace Carolyn Stauffer Wright, 81, died December 31, 2021 in her home in Halifax.

Mrs. Wright was born January 15,1940 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, the daughter of Joshua Stauffer and Esther Jessup Stauffer.  

Her parents and her brother, Paul Stauffer, preceded her in death.

She attended Michigan Wesleyan University.  She had lived in Halifax County for over 30 years and was retired from the Halifax County Department of Social Services.  

Mrs. Wright was a very giving person; she supported various missionaries and a Bible College throughout her life.

Mrs. Wright is survived by her husband, Gerald Wright; son, Joseph Loflin and his wife Cindy of Stanly County, NC; daughters, Joelee Lynch and her husband Buck of Davidson County and Carolyn Hooker of Stanly County; a sister, Dorcas Silver of Bessemer City; grandchildren, Justin Loflin, Ryan (Courtney) Thomason, Morgan Hooker, Marina Hooker and Marissa Hooker; and a great-grandson, Emmitt Thomason.

The service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Grace Wright will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, January 5, 2022 in the chapel of Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service.  The Rev. Dr. Dennis Gregory will preside.  Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday from 1:00 – 1:45 pm at the funeral home.
