Charles Lindbergh Taylor, Jr., 68, died Wednesday morning, December 8, 2021 in his Roanoke Rapids home.

Charles was born in Halifax County on March 13,1953, a son of Charles L. Taylor, Sr., and Eula Dean Manning Taylor.  

His parents and his brother, Jesse Taylor, preceded him in death.

Charles served in the US Army. He retired from JP Stevens/Bibb textiles, then worked for 15 years with Walmart.     

Survivors include his sons, Chris Taylor and Brian Taylor; former daughter-in-law, Jennifer Taylor; grandchildren, CJ Taylor, Amber Taylor, Lilly Taylor and Hailey Young; and sisters, Pam Taylor and Sarah Edwards.

Friends may visit with the family on Saturday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service.  At other times, the family will receive friends at 85 Jackson Street.

The funeral service for Mr. Taylor will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday afternoon in the funeral home chapel.  

Mr. Taylor will be cremated following the service, and interment will be private.
