Marcia Ann Gordon Hudson, 54, of Roanoke Rapids, lost her four-year cancer battle Monday, August 2, 2021 in the Hock Family Pavilion Hospice in Durham.

Marcia was born November 11, 1966 in Norfolk Virginia and is the daughter of the late Murray Saul Gordon and Anneliese Horton Gordon. 

Marcia was a graduate of Northwest Halifax High School class of 1985 and made a career in retail management for over 35 years, including Winn-Dixie, Walmart, Food Lion, and one year in route sales with PepsiCo (Frit-o-lay).  

She was loved by so many and was always a giving person who enjoyed helping others.  She loved her grandchildren and spending time at the beach.

Marcia is survived by her son Brent Hudson and his wife Brooke of Fuquay Varina, grandchildren Adalyn and Levi Hudson; her fiancée and companion for over 15 years Randy Wrenn of the home, his children Trae Wren (Crozet, Va), Casey Wrenn and his wife Jennifer (Roanoke Rapids), Eric Lynch and his wife Chelsea (Portland, OR), and five other grandchildren Hunter, Wyatt, Rooker, Kennah, and Anslee Wrenn; Brothers: Murray Gordon and his wife Donna (Jackson), Willie Gordon (Halifax), Bumpy Gordon and his wife Susan (Roanoke Rapids); Sisters: Bella Marie Hux and her husband Tracy (Kannapolis), Sherry Lynn Kephart and her husband Troy (Chesapeake,VA), Lynn Marie Beavers and her husband Jack (Kemp,TX), several niece and nephews, Uncle Gunther Horton, and several first and second cousins.

The family would like to thank the staff at Duke Hospital, Duke Cancer Center, and Duke Hock Family Pavilion Hospice in Durham for the positive healthcare of Marcia over the past year.

The family will receive friends on Saturday August 7, 2021 from 11:00am – 1:30 pm at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service. At other times, friends may call at the Hudson/Wrenn’ residence.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service, with Pastor Richard Newton presiding.  

Interment will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Rewritten Story Foundation at 475 E 10th St, Roanoke Rapids, NC, 27870, in Honor of Marcia Hudson.
