Lawrence Wayne Shotwell, 61, of Roanoke Rapids passed away Sunday, August 9, 2020 at Emerald Isle, NC.

Lawrence was born August 8, 1959 in South Boston, VA to the late Bunnie Hugh Shotwell, Jr. and Betty Hunt Shotwell.

Lawrence was a member of Victory Baptist and a former Deacon. Employed at Lowe’s Distribution for seventeen years. Lawrence loved softball, bowling, gardening and enjoyed racing.

Lawrence is survived by his wife of 39 ½ years, Kim Fox Shotwell; his son, Jason Shotwell and his wife Stephanie; his daughter, Lauren Price and her husband Mason both of Roanoke Rapids; his brother, Ronnie Shotwell and his wife Carol of Tampa, FL; his sister, Sue Allen and her husband Gary of Roanoke Rapids; his brother-in-law Tommy and Patricia Fox; his grandchildren, Macie Price and Alyssa Shotwell and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, August 14, 2020 at Victory Baptist Church with Rev. Jeremy Kobernat and Rev. Randy Martin officiating. Lawrence will lie in state at the church from 10 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Thursday, August 13, 2020 at the funeral home and other times at the home of his daughter, Lauren Price.
