Ann Parker Irby, 82, died Sunday night, July 26, 2020 in her Roanoke Rapids home.

A native of Pitt County, she was born January 1, 1938, the daughter of William C. Parker and Miriam Fairfax Hudson Parker.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dallas Carter; husband, James Irby; and a grandson, Christopher McKeel.

Mrs. Irby was a retired bookkeeper for several businesses over the years, lastly for the Weldon City Schools.  She was also a care giver, and was always helpful with family, her church and her neighbors.  She enjoyed going to church, singing and playing the piano.  Mrs. Irby attended Gaston Church of Christ.

Survivors include her daughter, Elizabeth Ballero; sons, Parker McKeel and Keith McKeel; a sister, Cynthia P. Bryant; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; an uncle, Dave Carraway; a niece and nephew; and also by a number of cousins.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am – 10:45 am Thursday at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, from the graveside, at Cedarwood Cemetery.  Pastors Donny Faucette and Daniel West will preside.
