Edward Sherman Jarratt, 77, died Monday, July 20, 2020 in his Roanoke Rapids home.

Mr. Jarratt was born in Emporia, VA on January 5, 1943, the son of John Bradford and Elsie Winfield Jarratt.  His parents and an infant brother all preceded him in death.

He retired from the accounting department at Union Camp after 32 years of service.  

Mr. Jarratt had a passion for western TV shows and movies, and thoroughly enjoyed Gunsmoke and Bonanza.  

He liked anything with wheels, especially motorcycles, scooters and cars.  He also enjoyed spending time at the lake and camping.  

He attended First Pentecostal Holiness Church for as long as his health permitted.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Bishop Jarratt; two daughters, Robin J. Golem (Pat) and Sherri J. Robbins (Scott); 5 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; a sister, Kathy J. Harris; a brother, John Jarratt; and a nephew, Chris (Angie).

The service to celebrate Mr. Jarratt’s life will be held at 11:00 am Thursday in the chapel of Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service.  Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 – 10:45 am Thursday at the funeral home.

Due to CDC recommendations for COVID-19, social distancing and facial coverings is encouraged.
