Andrew James “Jay” Borrell, Jr., 56, of Roanoke Rapids passed away Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Vidant Medical Center.

Jay was born February 6, 1960 in Halifax County to the late Andrew James “Winky” Borrell and June Wilson Boseman.

Jay is survived by his step-mother: Sandy Borrell; his sister: Tami Luckwaldt and her husband Jon of Raleigh; his step-sisters: Michelle Shearin and her husband David of Littleton and Kelly Smith and her husband Dan of Roanoke Rapids; four nieces and nephews; his aunts and uncles: Paul and Peggy Borrell, Larry and Lou Ellen Borrell, Barry and Brenda Wilson and Terry and Susan Wilson; his special friends: Tanya Henderson-DeLong and Joey Pearson.

A memorial service celebrating Jay’s life will be held 3:00 P.M. Sunday, May 1, 2016 in the chapel of Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service with Rev. Baker Rigg officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
