Frances “Frankie” Waters Edwards, 80, died Tuesday, October 8, at home.

Frankie was born March 28, 1939 in Halifax County, the daughter of Wittford Waters and Irene Denton Waters.    

She was a retired weaver from JP Stevens/Bibb.  

She loved to bowl as well as gambling. Frankie enjoyed going to the beach as well as other traveling, and felt that her grandchildren were her pride and joy.

Survivors include her daughters,  Tracy Wilmouth (Jason), Kathy Godsey (Eric); step-daughter, Judy Thornton; step-son, Richard “Bubba” Edwards (Holly); sisters-in-law, Dorothy Waters, Rose Edwards Beacham; grandchildren, Michael May, Nicholas Davis, Jason Wilmouth, Jr, Josh Wilmouth, Joshua Thompson, James Cox, Miranda Edmondson, Nicole Mullins, Timothy “TJ” Edwards, Ricky Kerbs, Michael Edwards, Lisa Breeden, Michael Breeden, Kevin Breeden; many great-grandchildren; and special niece, Debra Lynn Lynch.   

Frankie’s parents; husband, Grady Edwards; grandson, Todd Davis; brother, Donald Waters; and special niece, Brenda Gail Evans, all preceded her in death. 

Friends may visit with the family from 4 – 6 pm Sunday at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Monday at Freedom Free Will Baptist Church, 4516 NC 125, Halifax, with Pastor Rex Evans presiding.  Interment will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery.
