Hazel Theresa Gordon, born May 31, 1974, passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, May 14, 2026.

She was the heart of her family — a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished daughter, sister, aunt, and the most wonderful “Mimi” to her three beautiful grandchildren.

She loved fiercely and unconditionally, always putting the people she loved before herself.

Her greatest joy in life was being a Mimi. Kenzleigh, Kennedy, and Ryker were the light of her life and the center of her world.  She treasured every moment spent with them; from the laughter they shared, the hugs and kisses she adored, to the simple everyday moments that meant everything to her.  Nothing made her happier than hearing their voices, watching them grow and creating memories they will carry forever.  They know without a doubt how deeply they are loved, and that love will continue to surround them for the rest of their lives.

Theresa had a beautiful soul and a kind heart that welcomed anyone. She had a way of making people feel loved, seen, and cared for, and her presence brought comfort and joy to so many.  Whether through her hugs, comforting words, or the way she could brighten any room with her smile, she made an unforgettable impact on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

She was not only family, but also a loyal friend and a blessing to so many.  Her Heaton Construction work family and countless dear friends will forever remember her strength, compassion and the love she shared so freely.

Theresa is survived by her loving husband Jeremy Gordon, her father, Monroe Harris, her mother-in-law, Betty Gordon, daughter Monica Thacker (Anthony), son, Seth Gordon, sister Retha Hasty (Timmy), and her three beloved grandchildren Kenzleigh, Kennedy, and Ryker Thacker, who were truly the pride and joy of her life.  She also leaves behind nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many friends who love her dearly.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Opal Harris and her brother, Joseph Cole.

Although her family’s hearts are broken by this loss, they find comfort in knowing her love will remain with them forever.  The lessons she taught, the knowledge she had, the memories she created and the unconditional love she gave so selflessly will continue to live on in all who knew and loved her.

Her legacy is one of love, strength, kindness and devotion, a legacy that will especially live on through the grandchildren she adored with all her heart.

She will be missed deeply every single day, but forever loved beyond words.  It is never goodbye, but I will see you later.

A Memorial Gathering will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Friday, May 22, 2026 at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service.  Friends may sign the online register by visiting www.hockadayfs.com
