Beverly Ann Mullis Howell

Roanoke Rapids — Beverly Ann Mullis Howell, 75 of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina passed away peacefully at ECU North surrounded by family on Monday April 6, 2026. 

Beverly was born on July 31, 1950, in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina. 

She was preceded in death by her parents Johnny and Onie Mullis, Grandmother Nora Leona Hock, son Gregory Neal Howell, brother Michael Wayne Sheppard and her ‘fur baby’ Tootie Ann.

She is survived by her son Parham Dixie Howell II (Jessica), daughters Andrea Kaye Howell, Dixie Howell Medlin (Brandon), Amanda Belle Painter (Wayne), grandchildren Dr. Devin Perkins, Drew Anne Barlowe, Isabella Grayce Lassiter, Abraham Bodhi Howell, Uriah David Howell, Hudson Neal Medlin, Caroline Alyssa Medlin, Evan Lucas Painter, Norah Jean Painter, great grandchildren Silas, Finn, Rosemary, nephews Alex, Kelly, niece Crystal, and special friends Sandra Brown, Wanda Plyler, Betty Garner, Sandra Hux.

Beverly was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. She retired from State Farm Insurance; she was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends and family on Thursday April 9, 2026, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation. 

There will be a funeral service on Friday April 10, 2025, at 2:00pm in Hockaday Chapel Pastor Wayne Marshall presiding, with the interment following the service in Old Cedarwood Cemetery.
