Davis “David” Henry Kimrey, 77, of Roanoke Rapids, passed away on Friday, July 11, 2025 in Ahoskie Assisted Living.  

Mr. Kimrey was born on February 8, 1948, the son of the late Dahlia Pulliam and Clifton Isaac Moore.  

He was also preceded in death by his brother James Kimrey, his aunts:  Ruth Pulliam, Nellie Powell, and Marjie Eason, and his uncles: Hollis Pulliam, Preston Henry Pulliam, and William Billy Pulliam. 

Mr. Kimrey is survived by sister Lia Rose Moore of Little River, SC and several nieces and nephews.

David was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, a member of Davie Lions Club, and a member of Vision Impaired Club of Halifax County.  

He was an avid walker, loved helping people, especially selling tickets for Camp Dogwood to help support the camp for the blind.  He also loved to sing gospel music. 

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, July 18, 2025 at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service.  

Burial will follow in Crestview Memorial Cemetery.  

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 17, 2025 at the funeral home from 7:00 – 9:00 PM.
