Wade Smoot Hockaday of Nashville, NC, and formerly of Roanoke Rapids, NC, passed away on Monday, January 07, 2019.
He was born in 1932 to the late Vernon Ianson and Mina Virginia Smoot Hockaday.
Wade was a businessman, developer, farmer, and was a loving husband, Father, and grandfather. He was a member of Rosemary United Methodist Church and a member of the Roanoke River Antique Engine and Tractor Club. Wade loved horses and was an avid traveler.
Wade is survived by his wife, Carolyn; his two daughters, Audrey Hockaday Duffy of Angier, NC, Susan Hockaday Turner and her husband Eric, of Spartanburg, SC; his granddaughter Mina Nicole Greenlee of Monroe, NC; two grandsons, Alexander Wade Turner and Dylan Grey Turner both of Spartanburg, SC.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Askew Funeral & Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids, NC with Rev. Steve McElroy officiating.
Interment will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery Roanoke Rapids, NC.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 10, 2019 from 12:45 until 1:45 P.M. at Askew Funeral & Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids, NC.
