Blannie Barnes Britton, 90, died Monday, October 21, 2019, at Rich Square Nursing & Rehabilitation, Rich Square, NC.

Mrs. Britton was born, October 18, 1929, in Northampton County, daughter to the late Gale Borden and Jessie Tyler Barnes. 

She was a member of Lasker Baptist Church, a church she dearly loved, was a giver to all in need and was known as a “Top Notch” seamstress. 

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Britton was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Franklin Britton and her brother, Cecil Barnes. 

Surviving are her daughter, Jean Britton Newton of Raleigh and her son, David Keith Britton and wife, Wanda, of Gaston, NC; sisters, Millie Britton, Vivian Turner, Faye Davis and Elaine Davis; grandchildren, Jennifer B. Donahoe and husband, Joe, Jonathan Troy Britton, Dustin Tyler Newton and wife, Morgan, and Mary Hannah Newton. Also surviving are her great grandchildren; Luke, Rebeka and Abigail.  

Pastors Willie McLawhorn and Currie L. Burgess will conduct services to remember the life of Mrs. Britton at Lasker Baptist Church Saturday, October 26, 2019, at 2:00 pm. 

The family will receive friends at the church 1 hour prior to the service. 

The family will have a private burial at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorial contributions be made in honor of Blannie Barnes Britton to : American Cancer Society, PO Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123 and/or American Heart Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692.
