Harvey Frank Harris, 88, of Littleton, NC died peacefully at his home on Monday February 6, 2012.

Mr. Harris was the son of the late Frank J. Harris and Owen P. Harris. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Ann H. Barrigan, Bertha H. Warstler, and his brother Herbert Clarence Harris.

Harvey, a native of Littleton, NC was married to Edith I. Harris of Macon, NC. He was a member of Enterprise Baptist Church and a member of the Littleton Masonic Lodge. He served as a Marine in World War II.  Harvey was a barber and owned his own businesses in Northern Virginia. During this time, he became involved with the KENA Shrine and has been a member for 50 years. In the fall of 2011, Mr. Harris was presented a fifty-year certificate and pin by the KENA Shriners in appreciation and recognition of his service and loyal support. Harvey’s favorite pastimes were watching football and basketball, cooking, catering, gardening, lawn care, and spending time with his family (especially his grandchildren).

He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years Edith I. Harris, daughter Sandra H. McKigney and her husband, Don of Chesapeake, VA, daughter Peggy H. Frank and her husband, Marshall of Blacksburg, VA, and daughter Yvonne P. Morgan and her husband, Gary of Littleton, NC; his grandchildren, Joey M. Spragins, Suzanne S. Horton and her husband Aaron, Stacey L. Thompson and her husband Tommy, Adam B. Frank and friend Judy Vo, Meredith P. Frank, Megan W. Perry, Mitchell A. Morgan, and Meleah B. Morgan; and his great-grandchildren Olivia M. Myers, Lily R. Horton and Silas J. Horton;  his siblings Mamie H. Willoughby, Willie H. Stoudt, Marjorie H. Coulter and her husband, Rufus, Dorothy H. Ford,  Robert T. Harris and his wife, Linda, all of Littleton, Maude H. Miner, of McLean, VA, Virginia H. Mohorn, of Greensboro, and Erma H. Champion and her husband, John of Rolesville; thirty nieces and nephews, and numerous great-nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends and family beginning at 12:30 p.m. followed by the funeral services at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 8 at Enterprise Baptist Church, Littleton, NC with the Reverend Darren Lambert and Robbie Harris officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Masonic Rites.

Memorial donations may be made to Enterprise Baptist Church, Camp Willow Run or the Shriners Hospital for Children.
