Dorothy Wrenn “Dot”  Carroll, 81, of Roanoke Rapids died Wednesday, October 26, 2011, at Halifax Regional Medical Center.

Dot was the daughter of the late Eddie Ashby Wrenn and Virgie Chambliss Wrenn.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Kelly Thomas Carroll and several siblings. Dot was a life-long member of First Baptist Church in Roanoke Rapids.

Dot treasured the time spent with her grandchildren and also working with crafts and floral designs.

She is survived by her two daughters, Sheryl C. Reid and her husband, Ray, of Elizabeth City, and Wanda C. Askew and her husband, Mike, of Roanoke Rapids; three grandchildren, Adam Reid of Galveston, TX, Bethany Reid of Denver, CO, and Brant Askew of Roanoke Rapids. Brothers Alton Wrenn and his wife Justine, of Richmond, Va; Roger Wrenn and his wife, Lou also of Richmond and Clyde Wrenn of Gaston and Several nieces and nephews.

Askew Funeral & Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids is handling the arrangements, where the family will receive friends on Friday, October 28, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. and other times at the home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 29, at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Martin and Rev. Dathan Hall officiating.  Interment will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.
