Dorothy Dunston  Malone, 85, of Roanoke Rapids died Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at MCV Hospital in Richmond, VA.

Dorothy was a native of Halifax County, the daughter of the late George Washington Dunston and Susie Johnson Clarke. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Jeffrey Hunsucker, and four sisters, Edna Bailey, Josephine Davis, Bernice Proctor, and Fannie Mae Fite.  Dorothy was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Roanoke Rapids.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Hubert S. Malone; her daughter, Norma “Jeannie” Hunsucker and her husband, John T., Hunsucker, Sr. of Roanoke Rapids; her son, Gordon S. Malone and his wife, Pam, of Richmond, VA; three grandsons, John T. Hunsucker, Jr., Brandon Malone, Bryan Malone; her granddaughter, Kelly H. Davis and her husband Chris; special granddaughter-in-law, Lisa Wade Hunsucker;  eight great grandchildren; and three sisters, Mable White and Helen Letchworth, both of Roanoke Rapids, and Linda Ross and her husband, Ronnie, of Rocky Mount.

Askew Funeral & Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids is handling the arrangements, where funeral services will be held in the chapel on Saturday, October 29, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Randy Martin officiating.  The family will receive friends following the service. Burial will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.
