James Oscar Elks 83, of Weldon died Thursday April 14, 2011 at Halifax Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Elks was the son of the late William T. and Alma Harris Elks

He was also preceded in death by his daughter Joan “Dee” Clifton and his wife Flossie Whitby Elks.

Mr. Elks is survived by his daughter Lorri Elks Phillips of Weldon; his son Jeff Elks and his wife Tracy of Halifax;  his grand daughter Michaela Phillips and his sister Dorothy E. Keeter of Halifax.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Askew Funeral and Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids with Rev. D.A. Leonard officiating.

Burial will follow in Crestview Memorial Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.

The Family will receive friends Friday from 7-8:30 at the Funeral Home.
