Rose Cooksey Moore 81, of Roanoke Rapids died Friday October 8, 2010.

Mrs. Moore was the daughter of the late Richard and Nancy Stainback Moore.

She was a graduate of Roanoke Rapids High School and attended Greensboro College.

She was a life long member of Rosemary United Methodist Church where she had served on various comities and held several offices and had been a member of the choir, she was a member of the Connie Thompson circle and was very active with the Methodist youth fellowship for many years.

Mrs. Moore retired from J.P. Stevens after many years of service.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years William “Billy” Moore; her niece Paula McCoy Brown of Wilmington; her nephew Charles H. McCoy of Rocky Mount; her great niece Kathryne M. Townsend and her husband Kevin of Cary and her great nephew Evan M. Brown of Wilmington.

Funeral Services will be held Monday at 2:00 P.M. at Rosemary United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Bell officiating. Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery.

The Family received friends Sunday from 4-5:30 at Askew Funeral and Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids.
