With deep respect and heartfelt sorrow, we announce the passing of Mark Jefferson Warren, who left us on May 11, 2026, in Halifax, the place of his birth on September 14, 1967. 

Mark was a dedicated and honorable member of the Darlington Fire Department for 25 years, serving his community with unwavering commitment and courage. Known affectionately by many as the "mayor of Darlington," Mark was beloved in his community.

Mark found great joy in fishing and hunting, activities that connected him deeply with nature. He was also an avid card player and had a love for gardening.

He is survived by his sisters, Kathy Sparks and her husband, Gary of Littleton; Dawn Patterson and her husband, Randy of Weldon; and Vicki Hunt of Darlington; his brother, Buddy Warren of Halifax; his nieces and nephews, Randy Patterson, Jr., Michael Warren, Samantha Reda, Scott Warren and Jarrett Warren; great nieces and nephews, Ryan Warren, A'lexus Roundtree, Matthew Patterson, Scotty Warren, and Abby Patterson.

Mark was preceded in death by his father, Grover Cleveland Warren and his mother, Patricia Hux Warren, and a nephew, Tyler Hunt.

A graveside service was conducted on Thursday, May 14, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Warren Cemetery, Littleton, North Carolina.

In lieu of flowers donation may be made to Darlington Volunteer Fire Department in Mark's Memory.
