The Roanoke Rapids Police Department reported the following, according to Captain Harold Phillips:
On Thursday around 11:30 a.m. police, fire, and county EMS responded to a business in the Premier Boulevard area about a person who fatally fell off the roof of a business while repairing cameras.
The victim was not tied to the building to prevent a fall and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The police department is not immediately releasing the name of the victim.
Larceny
On Tuesday around 5 p.m. officers responded to an active larceny call at a business on Premier Boulevard.
Officers learned that a woman identified as Candace Reeves, 34, of Roanoke Rapids, was still in the store, but a man later identified as James Livingston, 30, of Macon, had left the store and was running through the parking lot.
Master Officer D. Norfleet and Lieutenant M. Hunsucker located him inside a restaurant where he was attempting to hide.
Officer P. Dueitt charged the pair with misdemeanor counts of conspiracy, larceny and possession of stolen goods. Livingston also received a resist, delay and obstruct charge. Reeves received a $500 secured bond while Livingston was jailed without the opportunity for bond due to several pending district court dates.
They have January 24 district court dates.
Larceny by employee
On Tuesday Dueitt responded to a larceny by employee call at a business on Premier Boulevard.
Dueitt learned that Natajoin Richardson, 30, of Enfield, had scanned a customer’s items but did not accept payment; instead she configured the register to show payment had been received.

Management caught the transaction.
Richardson was charged with felony larceny by employee and received a $500 secured bond.
She has a January 24 district court date.
