A man found deceased in his home last week died of natural causes, Halifax County Sheriff Wes Tripp confirmed this afternoon.

Deputies had been waiting on autopsy results after responding to a residence off Highway 158 west of Roanoke Rapids after receiving a report.

Tripp said in a statement last week it appeared the homeowner, 85-year-old Franklin Faulcon, had been deceased over an extended time period.

Preliminary findings indicated no signs of foul play.
