A Littleton man faces charges related to property theft and being an absconder after the victim located him and his property on Bullington Road outside Roanoke Rapids Wednesday.

Captain Scott Hall of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office said the victim went to Bullington Road to find his property and also located Brian Randall Salyer, 39, who was charged.

Lieutenant M. Brown and Deputy J. Snider went to the location around 4 p.m. to meet with the victim.

Salyer initially provided a false name. Deputies located his state ID card and learned he was wanted by North Carolina Probation and Parole as an absconder.

Detective C. Watkins located some of the stolen property and returned it to Virginia authorities.

Watkins arrested and charged Salyer for possession of stolen property, obtaining property under false pretense, and resist, obstruct, and delay.

Salyer remains in the Halifax County Detention without the opportunity for bond.

He has a January 25 district court date.

He was also scheduled to appear in court today for felony possession of stolen goods, obtaining property by false pretense and obstructing justice.

He is scheduled to appear in court on February 13 for speeding, DWI, civil revocation and misdemeanor probation violation.
