The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office reported the following, according to Captain Scott Hall:

On Wednesday agents of the Halifax Regional Drug and Gang Task Force, along with assistance from the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, located and arrested Audwin Parker Jr., 34, of Roanoke Rapids.

Task force and SBI agents had conducted several controlled purchases of fentanyl from Parker over several months in 2023.

Warrants were obtained for possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule II.

Parker was located at an address on Dickens Wildwood Road in Weldon at approximately 1 p.m.

When he noticed the agents he attempted to hide inside the residence. He was arrested a short time later without trouble.

Parker was also wanted by the department of Adult Correction and had been an absconder and on the run since the latter part of 2023.

As of this report he remains in the Halifax County Detention Center under an $80,300 bond.

He has a January 16 court date.
