A Conway man was arrested and charged last week on drug counts following a joint execution of a search warrant.

Captain Patrick Jacobs of the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office said the search yielded 17.6 grams of crack cocaine and 401.7 grams of marijuana as well as three firearms, fentanyl and powdered cocaine.

Maurice Deloatch, 41, was charged with possession of a weapon of mass destruction, three counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver schedule I, possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver cocaine, and possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver marijuana.

The narcotics unit of the sheriff’s office was assisted by the Conway Police Department, Hertford County Sheriff’s Office and the Ahoskie Police Department.

Jacobs said the search warrant executed on December 29 stemmed from numerous complaints from local citizens about drug activity in the apartment complex where Deloatch resided as well as multiple complaints of shootings in this area along with a thorough investigation within the area.

Deloatch received a $170,000 secured bond and a January 16 court date.
