A Roanoke Rapids man was charged Monday morning after he damaged three homes while firing a gun after midnight.
Asked whether Danajee O’Sean Garrett was firing a weapon into the air as some do to celebrate the new year, Captain Scott Hall of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office said he fired a weapon in an unsafe direction.
Three homes in the Timmy Lane area of Roanoke Rapids were damaged from gunfire and one residence was struck approximately 10 times. There were no injuries.
