The Halifax County Sheriff’s Officer is looking for a 37-year-old man who was reported missing late Tuesday night and had last been seen around 9 p.m. in the Pine Ridge Road area of Roanoke Rapids.
The sheriff’s office and the North Carolina Department of Public Safety say Anthony Cotton has been diagnosed with some cognitive impairments as well as moderate developmental difficulties.
He was last seen wearing gray sweatpants, a white T-shirt and a gray zippered jacket.
While a possible destination is unknown, in updates posted to social media the sheriff’s office reported that Cotton was possibly seen at the mobile home park at Great Falls Circle around 10:45 p.m. and earlier around 10:15 p.m. by Roanoke Rapids police around the same time he was reported missing. That earlier location was around Walgreens.
The North Carolina Center for Missing Persons has entered a missing endangered alert.
Lieutenant Shane Guyant of the sheriff’s office said this morning it is not believed Cotton has wandered too far from the area.
He stands around 5-feet, 3-inches to 5-feet, 4-inches and weighs approximately 130 pounds.
Anyone with information is encouraged to call 911, Lieutenant Matt Brown at 252-583-1991 or Crimestoppers at 252-583-4444.
