Halifax County remains in the orange category, signifying a high transmission level of COVID-19, the health department reported today.
The total number of positive cases now stands at 16,571 since March of 2020. The health department reported 154 new positive cases since its report last week.

The health department also reported three deaths related to the virus since last week’s report. The death toll related to COVID-19 in Halifax County is at 193.
There has been a decrease in COVID-19 hospitalizations at ECU North over the past week while there has been an increase in measurements in wastewater.
