A second person is wanted for an armed robbery which occurred this past Saturday in the 300 block of West Fourth Street.

Roanoke Rapids police Chief Bobby Martin said Carlton Jarrett Jr., 28, of Weldon, is also known to frequent areas of Roanoke Rapids.

Warrants for his arrest have been obtained for robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery, two counts of second-degree kidnapping, obtaining property by false pretense and felony conspiracy to commit obtaining property by false pretense.

The police department has already charged 22-year-old Quinton Jones.

The robbery occurred last Saturday around 11 p.m. when two men entered the home, at least one of them armed with a handgun.

The men made everyone move into the kitchen area. While in the home $200 in cash, a 60-inch TV, and assorted tattoo equipment were taken.

Thursday around noon Officer J. Wind responded to the Brookwood Motel on a call a man involved in a domestic dispute had a handgun.

Wind encountered the man who was identified as Thomas Torain, 32, of Roanoke Rapids. Torain was detained for safety reasons.

Further investigation revealed Torain did have a gun.

The man was carried before a magistrate and charged with possession of a firearm by a felon and carrying a concealed weapon.

He received an $8,000 bond and a court date of March 25.

There were no domestic charges.
