A Roanoke Rapids woman was charged on meth and driving-related counts following a traffic stop early this morning on Highway 158 near Hawkins Drive.
Chief Deputy Scott Hall said around 1:30 a.m. Halifax County Sheriff’s Office Corporal R. Chinn stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation.
Fonda Butler, 44, was identified as the driver. Further investigation led to the discovery of a small bag of a substance later learned to be methamphetamine in her possession.
Butler was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while license revoked and a rear lamp violation.
She received a $3,000 bond and March 28 court date.
