Roanoke Valley law enforcement reported the following:

Roanoke Rapids police Chief Bobby Martin said this morning shortly before 1 Officer D. Harrison was in the area of Old Farm Road and Thanos Drive when he conducted a traffic stop for a registration violation.

The driver, identified as Jaylen Woolfolk, 22, informed the officer there was a gun on the dash.

The gun came back as stolen from Knightdale.

Woolfolk, of Roanoke Rapids, was charged with possession of a stolen firearm and cited for driving while license revoked.

He received a $2,500 bond and March 24 court date.

Officer C. Walker assisted.

On Saturday around 11 p.m. Officer T. Acree responded to the 300 block of West Fourth Street on an armed robbery call.

Acree spoke with the victims and learned that two men entered the home, at least one of them armed with a handgun.

The men made everyone move into the kitchen area. While in the home $200 in cash, a 60-inch TV, and assorted tattoo equipment were taken.

Acree identified one of the people as Quinton Jones, 22, of the Roanoke Rapids area.

Jones faces charges of robbery, felony conspiracy, and obtaining property by false pretense.

He received a $100,000 bond and March 24 court date.

Police continue to investigate the identity of the second suspect.

Halifax County Sheriff’s Office 

Chief Deputy Scott Hall reported on Saturday Deputy P. Rackley responded to a residence on Highway 125 in Halifax on a call of a stolen ATV.

Video surveillance captured the theft and provided vital details of the suspects to the deputies.

On Monday around 1 a.m. D-Squad deputies noticed a vehicle matching the description from the security footage parked at a gas pump in Roanoke Rapids.

Deputy S. Bryant and Lieutenant A. Cash performed a traffic stop on the vehicle for a traffic violation.

Investigation led to Rackley identifying one of the suspects, Deonte Rainey, 32, of Roanoke Rapids.

Rainey was arrested and charged with larceny of a motor vehicle and possession of a stolen motor vehicle. 

He received a $2,500 bond with a March 24 court date. 

An additional arrest is likely.
