Chances for children to visit Santa are still available through several events.

Tippett house

Santa will be at the Tippett house at 46 Fairlane Drive Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and again on December 20 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The Tippett house features an array of Christmas lights and decorations.

Christmas at the Firehouse

Gaston Fire and Rescue will hold Christmas at the Firehouse Friday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at 210 Old Emporia Road in Gaston.

Along with the opportunity to visit Santa and Mrs. Claus, there will be a 16-foot Christmas tree, a chance to decorate ornaments with elves and a visit with Frosty and the reindeer.

Children can write letters to Santa and visit with the Grinch and get on his sleigh.

There will be fresh popcorn, cookies, cocoa and apple cider.

Santa in the Park — Saturday and December 22

The Roanoke Rapids Fireman’s Club is hosting Santa in the Park at Centennial Park beginning from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Cheerleaders will be assisting by serving hot chocolate and the children will get small bags of candy.

Christmas at the Canal — Friday

This event will give children another chance to visit Santa and have free pictures taken with him and Mrs. Claus. The Grinch will also be at Roanoke Canal Museum, which is located at 15 Jackson Street Extension. Time is 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

There will be singing of Christmas carols, s’mores by the campfire, snacks, crafts and games.
