The Halifax County Health Department today added 14 new positive cases of the novel coronavirus bringing the total to 830 since testing began.
There have been nine related deaths — eight reported within the Roanoke Rapids area ZIP code and one within the Weldon area ZIP code.
Today’s graphic data does show a slight increase in the trend.

The health department encourages residents to continue to practice the three Ws — waiting six feet apart, handwashing and wearing a facial covering. “Improving your compliance with the three Ws now will both better educate children as to how to practice them. Please take this opportunity to protect our children and each other very seriously,” the health department said.
Northampton County
The health department Monday reported 371 total positive cases of which 335 have recovered. There are 17 COVID-19 related deaths.
