A Garysburg man wanted in a June 6 shooting surrendered to the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office Wednesday morning.

Monquette Sharod Douglas received a $200,000 secured bond and August 5 court date.

He was wanted for attempted murder in the shooting of a woman on Chestnut Street in the early morning hours.

Weldon police Chief Christopher Davis said earlier this week police believe the woman who was shot was not the intended victim. He said police believe the shooting was the result of an argument between Douglas and another person.
