As of midnight Monday the Halifax County Health Department is aware of 2,002 confirmed tests performed on residents for the novel coronavirus.

The following is a breakdown of those results:

349 positive cases since testing began; four related deaths; and 273 recoveries.

The approximate number of current cases can be calculated by subtracting the total recoveries from the positives.

There are 28 tests pending and 1,625 negative test results.

“Today we are reporting an increase in positive test results,” health Director Bruce Robistow said in his afternoon update. “Although our trend line remains in a downwards direction, it is slowly beginning to rise once again. Please continue to practice the three Ws. Doing so can make a huge difference in your health and the health of others. Let’s all work together to protect each other, wear a mask, wait six feet apart, and wash and disinfect hands frequently to keep our numbers down.”
