As of midnight Wednesday, the Halifax County Public Health System is aware of 668 confirmed COVID-19 tests which have been performed on residents.

The following is a breakdown of those results:

107 positive cases; one related death; 73 recoveries.

There are 11 tests pending with 550 known negative results.

Health system Director Bruce Robistow said in his afternoon update, “Adding two positive cases to yesterday has caused the trend line to start flattening. Today’s data does indicate that strong attention needs to continue to be placed on mitigating this virus and would strongly indicate that we cannot forget the importance of following the executive orders and recommendations. “Please be sure to practice appropriate social distancing, handwashing, respiratory hygiene, and wearing facial coverings whenever you are out in public.”
