The Roanoke Rapids Police Department reported the following, according to Chief Chuck Hasty:

Monday October 19, 2015

At approximately 2:45 a.m., Sergeant Richie White conducted a traffic stop on Julian R. Allsbrook Highway for a traffic violation.

Travis Tyshon Jackson, 23, of Roanoke Rapids, was the driver of the vehicle and White found him to be impaired.

White arrested and charged Jackson with driving while impaired, driving while license revoked and speeding.

Jackson received a $1,000 bond and a November 9 court date.

Lieutenant Charles Burnette and Officer Ryan Cross assisted .

At approximately 9 a.m., Officer Jamie Hardy responded to a larceny call at Walmart.

Loss prevention reported Kendryl Direll Garner, 46, of Roanoke Rapids, took items from the store without paying.

Hardy issued Garner a citation for larceny and possession of stolen goods.

He was released until his November 2 court date.

At approximately 9:30 p.m., Officer Patrick Smith responded to a call about a person with a gun inside Logan's Roadhouse.

Smith located Jonathan Thomas Bryant, 29, of Hampton, Virginia, inside the business with a handgun. Smith spoke with Bryant and discovered he had been drinking.

Smith arrested and charged Bryant with carrying a weapon into an establishment that sells alcohol.

He was released on a written promise to appear on his court date of December 18.

Tuesday October 20, 2015

At approximately 1:15 a.m., White conducted a traffic stop on Highway 158 for a violation.

Derrick Marquette Godley, 47, of Roanoke Rapids, was the driver of the vehicle and White’s investigation found his license was revoked.

White arrested and charged Godley with driving while license revoked and speeding.

Godley received a $500 bond and November 9 court date.

At approximately 9 a.m., Lieutenant Perry Parks responded to a larceny call at Family Dollar on East Tenth Street.

Staff reported Kenneth Coley Lee, 27, of Garysburg, took items from the store without paying. Officers spotted Lee in the back alley and he attempted to flee but was taken into custody a short distance away.

Parks arrested and charged Lee with larceny, possession of stolen goods and resist, delay and obstruct.

He received a $500 bond and a December 4 court date.

Master Officer Roy Ball and officers Scott Blythe and Hardy assisted.

At approximately 5 p.m., Hardy responded to a larceny call at Walmart.

Loss prevention reported Raven Richardson, 24, of Hollister, attempted to take items from the store without paying.

Hardy issued Richardson a citation for concealment of goods and she was released until her November 2 court date.

Wednesday October 21, 2015

At approximately 6 a.m., Officer Jonathan Benthall responded to a trespasser call at Halifax Regional Medical Center.

Security reported Cornell Travis Pender, 29, of Scotland Neck, had been asked several times to leave the property but refused.

Benthall asked Pender to leave the property but he refused and was charged with trespassing.

He received a $2,000 bond and a November 13 court date.

Officer Jason Williams assisted.

At approximately 10:45 a.m., Hardy responded to a larceny call at Walmart.

Loss prevention reported Bruce Alton Jones, 38, of Roanoke Rapids, took items from the store without paying.

Hardy arrested and charged Jones with larceny, possession of stolen goods and concealment of goods.

Jones also had an outstanding order for his arrest and received a $1,500 bond and November 6 court date.

Ball assisted.

Thursday October 22, 2015

At approximately 1:45 a.m., Williams responded to a larceny call at Walgreens.

Store staff reported Christopher Ryan Turner, 29, of Roanoke Rapids,took items from the store without paying.

Williams arrested and charged Turner with larceny and possession of stolen goods.

Turner received a $1,000 bond and November 13 court date.

Officer Chris Biggerstaff assisted.

At approximately 11:45 a.m., Hardy responded to a larceny call at Walmart.

Loss prevention reported Lakendrall Shawnique Stallings, 27, of Enfield, took items from the store without paying.

Hardy arrested and charged Stallings with larceny and possession of stolen goods.

Stallings received a $400 bond and November 6 court date.

At approximately 3:30 p.m., Hardy responded to a larceny call at Belk.

Loss prevention reported Taequana Terrise Jones, 23, of Roanoke Rapids, took items from the store without paying.

Hardy cited Jones for larceny and possession of stolen goods.

She was released until her court date on November 6.

At approximately 6 p.m., Sergeant Daniel Jenkins responded to a larceny call at Belk.

Loss prevention reported Fredrick Carlton Mitchum, 48, of Roanoke Rapids, attempted to take items without paying.

Jenkins cited Mitchum for concealment of goods and he was released until his December 14 court date.

At approximately 7:30 p.m., Officer Matt Hunsucker responded to a motor vehicle collision at Eleventh and Monroe streets.

Hunsucker found Nathan Brooks Twisdale, 32, of Roanoke Rapids, inside the vehicle in the driver’s seat with injuries from the collision.

Hunsucker saw marijuana and an open container of beer in the cup holder while he was getting Twisdale out to attend to his injuries.

Twisdale was transported to the hospital by EMS for treatment.

Hunsucker cited Twisdale with simple possession of marijuana and possession of an open container.

Twisdale is free until his court date on December 14.

The collision is still under investigation and more charges could be possible.
