Identification of a man and woman breaking into vehicles at several schools across the area is being sought.

Thus far the couple has broken into vehicles at two schools in Roanoke Rapids, Northwest Halifax High School, KIPP in Gaston and Northampton County High School.

Lieutenant Charles Vaught of the Roanoke Rapids Police Department said the pair is targeting vehicles whether locked or unlocked, using a smash and grab method for the locked vehicles and taking anything in sight.

They may be operating a black Chrysler 200 with out of state plates, possibly Virginia.

Investigation in Roanoke Rapids began May 1 and another report was received on May 26.
