A Roanoke Rapids man who ran from police after a brief chase was charged on drug-related counts Thursday evening.
Kerry Lamont Woodley, 35, faces charges of driving while license revoked; failure to stop for blue light and siren; two counts possession of cocaine; possession of marijuana; possession of Oxycodone; possession of drug paraphernalia and maintaining a vehicle for keeping a controlled substance.
Roanoke Rapids Police Chief Chuck Hasty said in a statement Woodley was arrested after Master Officer Roy Ball attempted to stop him around 6 p.m. for driving on a revoked license.
Woodley stopped the car and got out, attempting to flee. He was caught by Officer Jamie Hardy a short distance away.
Woodley was jailed on $20,000 bond and has an April 8 court date.
