ADT Security has reported four complaints across the state today of people posing as representatives of the company trying to get into people's homes, Halifax County Sheriff Wes Tripp said.

Last week, at least one Halifax County resident in Roanoke Rapids was contacted by a man posing as an employee of the company, offering to assist in making appointments for free wireless upgrades, Tripp said in a statement. “The man will come to your home and attempt to enter the house allegedly to assist with the equipment upgrade. ADT has confirmed that no employee is doing work like this for them.”

Said the sheriff in the statement, “We ask the public to report similar contacts from anyone they deem suspicious.”

The male described in the recent event is white, in his 30s having possibly a medium build.

He was driving a Toyota with Texas tags.

The male has used the name Justin Wolf and Mark Wolf.
