A man wanted for allegedly stealing a Gator from Roanoke Rapids High School as well as two break-ins at an Internet cafe in Gaston turned himself in Friday.

Roanoke Rapids police Chief Andy Jackson said Ryan Turner, 19, of Gaston, surrendered after reading news accounts that he was wanted.

Roanoke Rapids police served their warrants for the Gator theft and served warrants for Gaston police.

Turner and 16-year-old Douglas Whitby III faces charges of breaking and entering, possession of stolen property, injury to personal property and larceny in the Roanoke Rapids case.

Turner and Whitby face two counts each of breaking, entering and larceny from two break-ins at the Gold Rush Internet Cafe in Gaston.

Turner received a $22,000 bond.
