Sheetz has submitted its construction drawings for review, according to the Roanoke Rapids Planning and Development Department.

Department Director Kelly Lasky said the company is eyeing late July or early August to demolish the old Ryan's building where the new store will be located at the intersection of Old Farm Road and Julian R. Allsbrook Highway.

In May Lasky told city council the company is expected to start construction in October or November with a possible February opening date.
